So, while I'm still a daughter, sister, friend and wife, intern has been my biggest badge unfortunately, but right this second with 4,576,200 seconds to go (I totally could have made that up, you would never know) I can see the bright, shiny, glistening, sparkling, shimmering light at the end of tunnel.
That light and the sweet premise of freedom, downtime, a more enjoyable job for Mikey (don't EVEN get me started), trips out West (the wild, wild one), and the reclaiming of hobbies and playtime with family and friends flickered enough inspiration for this blog. I'm faithful that time will continue to pass (4,576,100 seconds to go, now...check me) and the elusive details of our next phase of life will unfold.
Please don't get me wrong, my internship experience has been filled with its own variation of perks - new lifelong friends, loads of learning (like the on-your-feet kind), growth (yeah, like the icky adult, professional kind), gaining of confidence (not to mention competence), sweet encouragement from all corners, nights unwinding with the best of friends, sweeter, more cherished time with family, and always the constant appreciation for the unbelievable blessing of support that gave me the opportunity.
But I'm no fool, I know what sells airtime and flips pages and it's not the Nutrition Care Process, the ADA, competencies, notebooks, tubefeedings or TPN - it's quitting jobs (gasp!), moving, buying land, staying up past 9:30pm, grad school classes or no grad school classes, traveling on a budget, hiking and more hiking, a tan to die for and (drumroll please...) a paycheck!
So here I am, on the brink, and don't you worry - I'll finish the internship plot out strong, but feel free to stick around for the juice, the guts, my inspiration to fill my part of cyberspace. We are ever eager to go with the flow and explore what God has for our little family next. I hope to stick to my word, the more creative the better...
We have been brushing up on our adventure skills over Christmas break :) So thankful for a true, honest to goodness white Christmas this year and a husband who reverts back to age 10 at the sight of snow, along with a sister always willing to go play in the mountains!
